Notice that these two metronomes are the same BPM but the rhythmic feelings are slightly different.
That is what GrooveDive.Metronome seeks after : visualizing rhythm
|

|
|
|
|
In studio, composer and producer and conductor always eager to describe his/her own rhythmic imagination well using language ( "Would you try Bootsy Collins's overdrived funk bass in the prelude?" ) or mouth beatbox ( "...not boom-boom-dda-dda in that measure, just boom-boo-oo-dda..." ) or body gesture. In that situation, GrooveDive.Metronome might help a lot : Just show your GrooveDive.Metronome to your session men. They will get the clear vision of the rhythm you seek after.
Besides, using GrooveDive.Metronome, creative rhythm can be experimented. Just move the handles around or add another handle. After some modification, focus on the comet's movement and try to exercise your intrument watching its motion.

| Using menu |
|
- Different types of menu will appear in GrooveDive.Metronome depending on where the mouse pointer is.
- [Design Mode] ; the metronome can be modified only in design mode. Note that in design mode, the comet sticks to current slot. If you want to navigate to other slot, select 'Slot A', 'Slot B'
- What is bottom-left big "A" in rectangle ? : The bottom-left big letter represents currently focused slot. There are only 4 slots in GrooveDive.Metronome. You can add, delete and move slot using right-click menu on the "A" letter.
- Use keyboard to select menu fast : for example, [right click]->[d] will select "design mode". The underlined letter in the menu is the shortcut.

|
| Using slot |
|
- When you pratice drumming, hitting one pattern constantly might be boring. In that case, for example, playing a fill-in at every 4th measure may revitalize the overall feeling of rhythm.
The slot of GrooveDive.Metronome was inventented for that purpose. Try to add another slot that plays a visual fill-in after previous slot.
- Adding Slot : When you select 'Add Slot', a new slot will be created and the exactly same data will be copied to the new slot.

| About handles |
|
- Blue Colored handles are "orbit handle". Drag that around to change orbit.
- Other colored handles are "sound handle". When comet passes through sound handle, that will generate a sound.
- Give it a try to select the menu "add handle" on line and "delete handle" on handle.
- When you drag sound handle, check the information at the bottom of right - measure count (ie, 1:29 2:50 ...). For example "2:50" means the current sound handle's position is 2nd and half beat and that is same as in 4/4 meter.
- Note that dragging sound handle doesn't change the orbit. Sound handles just slide along the orbit. "orbit handle" is just a handle that only change the orbit visually and "sound handle" only concerns with correct timing for sound. The former is only for your eyes and the later is only for your ears.
- Use the sub menu : [SOUND] > [sounds on every beat]. That will locate sound handles precisely on every beat in current meter.
- Try to use other sub menus under [SOUND] to regulate sound volume.
- About the last handle of orbit : The orbit ends right after the last handle of orbit. The comet will abruptly head for the first handle as soon as it reaches the last handle. This is designed to introduce the fastest movement for comet. Just place that adjacent to the first handle if you want smooth movement. Give it a try to use the last handle creatively for more interesting movement.
